Bruceshop could have stopped there, content that they had delivered on Bruce Lee’s fashion legacy. But they forged on, digging through the archives and creating replicas of nearly every piece of clothing the man was ever photographed in. None of them are more than 200rmb.

That last one is my top choice. Although I am uncertain of the performance of my chest in this outfit, I am going to forge ahead like a fashion rebel.

In Enter the Dragon, Bruce Lee put on his ninja outfit and stuck into the evil guy’s fortress, discovering his nasty plans in the process. Rare 1963 Bruce Lee ‘Gung Fu’ Guidebook

If you have a couple thousand USD to burn on Bruce Lee memorabilia, you can pick up this rare 1963 book – one of only 500 produced – in which Bruce Lee teaches ‘Chinese Gung Fu: The Philosophy of Self Defense.’  You would probably look at this and think that it is the rarest book in the shop. Everyone in my Junior High used to have a notebook that looked just like this.  But supposedly this is made by the man Bruce Lee himself  - and is certified real. This Taobao shop has officially blown my mind! It is 350,000rmb (That’s $51,000 USD.)

Remember Bruce Lee

Every couple of years I remember just how badass Bruce Lee is. In the past, that meant a Bruce Lee movie marathon and a couple intimidating kung fu kicks in the mirror. This year I hit the jackpot, Taobao style. I found bruceshop.cn, a huge Taobao shop containing all things Bruce. Not just his movies. (If you are shopping at the Bruce Lee store, chances are you probably already have the complete DVD collection.)  Bruceshop’s catalog goes deep with books, weapons and even clothing to give yourself a full badass makeover.  Strap in – this is gonna get serious!

Fight Like Bruce Lee

Today we cover weapons – the weapons used by this kung fu legend to kick ass. We start with some beginners’ weapons. I think the official name for these are “bashin’ sticks.” They are not quite as cool as his trademark nunchucks, but there is a greatly reduced chance to smack yourself in the forehead. 168 rmb for these

Trust me on this one – you need to match your nunchucks with the Bruce Lee outfit you are about to buy. Get them in wood or foam. Let’s start with foam – they are only 35rmb and will prevent you from accumulating the bruises.

Ornate Nunchucks

Bruceshop’s nunchuck selection is vast, perhaps even surpassing the selection of our favorite nunchuck fight club. Choose your sticks wisely. The gold inlay on these strikers make them an excellent choice. 350rmb

These are rare electric nunchucks from a Japanese Bruce Lee video game. Yes! In the tradition of crazy Japanese video games like Samba de Amigo (a game that came with maracas). These are expensive.

Wooden Enemy Trainer

If you don’t practice your blocking, you will get a face full of fist in no time. You desperately need this wooden enemy trainer. Apart from blocking, it will also train your discipline, as you restrain yourself from hanging clothes on it. And if you are really cool and manly and want to keep a house that reflects this, this will also serve as excellent decoration. 1180rmb, and totally worth it.

Glow in the dark makes everything look better 

After you have taken a few classes with the nunchuck master, you should have your nunchuck skills in order. So be sure to show them off in style. Pick up a set of these sweet glowing nunchucks. 

These look like chemical glowsticks. But they’re not – that would only give you a few hours of ninjatime before the chemical glow fades.

Instead they are made with battery-powered LEDs, so you can practice in the dark for hours. I like the Seller’s honesty in describing these. “The workmanship is not perfect, but they’re still not bad.”

There has never been a better time to get into bo staff fighting.

Not only do chicks like guys who have bo staff skills. But now there appears to be a massive bo staff surplus, and at only 50rmb they are priced to sell. 

This guy, who looks a little like Beat Takeshi, seems like he knows his way around this noble weapon. That’s good form.

Each of this Taobao seller’s product listings is accompanied by a generous behind-the-scenes photo tour, such as this one at the bo staff factory. I’m not sure why these guys keep making new ones.  I think they have enough stacked up back there to last a while.

I know what you’re probably thinking. How are they going to ship a huge bostaff to me?

Ahh, that’s how!

When you receive your bo staff, you should resist the urge to start swinging it around directly. That’s how accidents happen. 

Instead, check out this bo staff instructional on Taobao. Again they have crafted a detailed photo guide to the basic bo poses. Practice these and you’ll be looking like a controlled kungfu master, instead of a broomstick spaz.

In this photo, it looks like he is going to throw the stick as far as he can, but he is actually pushing against his neck. It’s half neck massage and half stretching exercise. This bostaff is actually described exclusively as a massage stick, not for martial arts.

Good for kicking ass. Good for exercise. Good for decoration. Possibly good for hanging clothes. Get yourself a bostaff!

You are looking at the Changzhou Nunchuck Fight Club. Take a good look, and be thankful that you are seperated by time and space. If you weren’t, this might be the last thing you ever saw.

That bad mofo in the middle? He’s the leader.

He looks like he is straight off the set of a John Woo film. He has been training for over a decade, and has the scars to prove it.  Check out a video of him in action.

That’s what this badass decided to call his Taobao shop (1绳2棍而已).  He crafts his own weapons. The nunchuck equivalent of Hanzo Steel. They can be customized to your height and arm length, which is perfect for us foreign people, who are more likely to have different proportions. 

I haven’t done any research, but I can only assume by the above picture that Changzhou is overrun by street gangs all devoted to their weapon of choice. The Tonfa gang.  The Bo Staff gang,  The chick gang, all equipped with stainless steel kung fu fans. If you stand a chance of survival in Changzhou, you had better possie up with the right crew.
