This will release funds to a Taobao escrow account, and the buyer will be informed that they should ship your order. This wll take you to the Pay for Your Order Screen.

Click this only when the goods are acceptable, and you consent to release the money from the escrow to the Seller. Here is our guide to what to do when you receive your package.

Click this one if you want to begin the refund process, to recover money from the Taobao escrow account, with a reason for the refund. See our guides to refunds before and after the product is shipped.

This is most useful for finding a previous order if you want to go back and buy more.

Back to the Alipay Control Panel Guide

That’s probably what you want to know. Well, there are a few likely scenarios:

If you didn’t type in your password to confirm payment directly after ordering, then you may need to return to this screen to pay. Click on the 付款 link to pay for your order, or check our guide to Alipay transactions. 

If this message persists for more than a few days, you should contact the Seller. They may be out of the product in question, or waiting to confirm some details with you. Ideally you can contact the Seller to confirm these details before you buy. See our Guide to Chatting with the Seller.

If you haven’t already received it, your package should be on it’s way. Don’t confirm until you receive the goods and everything checks out okay. Or contact the Seller if you are experiencing a delay.

You have received the product and paid for it. Success!

Maybe the Seller was out of stock. Maybe you never came back to pay. Somehow, transaction never happened.

Back to the Alipay Control Panel Guide

For most of you, this will not be a necessary step.

If you followed the directions in our guide to signing up for Taobao,  and left the final checkbox checked, then you will already have an Alipay account created for you automatically. But if you do need to sign up for Alipay account independent of Taobao, then check this out.

Go to the Alipay registration page. Type in the email address you used to register for Taobao and click the button.

Here is what you might see after clicking that button:

• Red – Stop! You are already registered on Alipay. That’s good. If you see this, click here for our guide on figuring out  your Alipay account. 

• Blue – You are not registered on Alipay. Please continue with the registration form. 

When registering for Alipay seperately, it will ask for more info than when you signed up for Taobao.  They will want your ID (passport) number and a phone number. Let’s take a look.

• For numbers 1, to and 3, you enter in the same thing twice to confirm against typos.
• Your passwords in 2 and 3 cannot match!
• Number 4 is a security question. The default is asking for your Dad’s and Mom’s names. Remember what you type. 

• Passport 护照 is the second option  
• Enter your mobile phone number. Or another contact phone number. They only need one.

The next screen will tell you that you need to confirm your email address. Go to your email.

You will receive an email that looks like this. (Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.) Click on the circled link.

Since my name is not really Marty McFly, I did not click through. But when you click the link, you will see this success screen.
