Then easiest experience in China to get the "Wang hui E" (in comparison to going to the bank etc). The girl at the post office spoke a little english. There was no "postal business services" window so I just went to the one with the shortest line and it seemed to work. The form looked EXACTLY as above (as of 2011-12-09). She let me fill in the name and address in english characters. And a 300RMB charge only cost me 2RMB.

Today, I went to the post office and came home to charge my Taobao. It seems like they changed the processing fee?
The page says that each wanghui E has a max of 5000 each charge, with unlimited charges a day. It also says that the processing fee is 1%, with a minimum of 2 kuai and a max of 50 kuai, which is consistent with the 5000 kuai maximum per charge. I don't think this has reached the post offices yet, as I only had to pay the usual .5%.

HOWEVER, the sample image beside all this information has 1000rmb recharge with a 1 rmb fee. Thoroughly confused.

I haven't read all of your comments yet, but another easy way to load your Alipay is to ask a Chinese friend with a bank account to transfer funds to it directly via internet banking. I just did it a while ago and it was almost instantly added to my Alipay Credits, with no transaction fee! then you just need to pay your friend in the office or something.

Very convenient!

OK, so found out after I left the post office (my wife stayed with the student because I was just fed up with the worker telling me I couldn't do it the way I wanted to... when I know I can) that the lady was trying to get us to open a new account. Well, wouldn't you know it, the student we were with had NEVER done TaoBao on her own. :-P So they opened the account (looks like it's just a regular Postal Savings account and Union Pay card... nothing fancy), and then we had to go through the LENGTHY online process of linking it all up together. Needless to say, I'm taking another student that I know HAS experience with this, closing this new account and doing it the way I KNOW I can do it. I'm all for banks making money, but to tell me that I can't do something when I know I CAN... yeah, not a happy camper. So just beware, they might try to get a new account out of you.

Just tried doing this here in Harbin, and the post office I went to said that the form used above is only if I have the seller's info. So the student I had with me had to use her ID card (they asked for mine but I didn't have it on me since I didn't think I'd need it) and fill out FOUR different forms. Even showing the girl at the post office the hanzi for the form and pointing at the form in the post office, no dice. Anyone else know if this has changed?

Thanks for this great website!

I have a Chinese bank account and it is set up for online payments. I have the electronic code device and the payment application is available in English (just like Steeve said in his comment on 7 November 2009).

But I have not been able to link the bank account to the alipay account. Can you please please please explain? Assuming everything on the bank side is installed properly? Thanks!!!
