Here’s another field report. All went smooth (felt like a boss when knowing how to fill out that form) until I tried to enter the numbers on my computer. Like the others I had to download something. I’m running Linux and there’s no way that I’ll install some badly hacked binary code on my lovely ubuntu machine! So I booted into the which-must-not-be-named operating system, knowing that I’d have to work quick because it takes me 10 minutes max on that operating system to get really mad at that crappy design (seriously, clicking through *five* different windows until I can change my IP address?? come on!). Downloaded the package and installed it and after that all was well.

I used Firefox on Windows Vista Business btw, and I think I start to understand why Linux isn’t popular here. QQ and this Taobao thingy doesn’t work, and who knows what else doesn’t? In the beginning I wondered why the government doesn’t take the chance to promote a free operating system, but I begin to realize why they don’t want a free system.

By the way, at the post office they charged me only 2 kuai for a 400 kuai reload.

Not working here, and now stuck with 4,000 rmb i cant recharge! Arggghhhhh!!!!

using chrome in ubuntu linux, i got a 16 digit recharge number, NOT 14 or 18…extremely p******* off now after a whole mornings messing about, and I still cant buy anything on TAOBAO!!!

Feel like giving up, this is just all too complicated!

Hi, I’m trying to recharge my account but after putting in the number and the pin number I get this error:

网汇e汇票密码格式有误！

I’m sure my Pin is correct, anyone know why I’m getting this message? I’m using Firefox on a mac if that makes a difference..

I have bought my credit and want to charge my alipay account. Upon entering the secret pin, i was to download a file for my Mac. I did that, but to no avail. Please help.

Hi there!
I did everything like you wrote, registered in both TaoBao and AliPay, went to China Post, got my “Wang Hui E” ticket, but can’t recharge my account… It keeps showing me this message “充值失败！该汇票号已充值成功，请查询。”. So, should I wait or got to go to the China Post again? Thank you in advance.

I am not able to plug in my pin. I am using a Mac, and have tried both Chrome and Safari. I have downloaded the plug in but still is says, “Missing Plug In”. Any suggestions?

I am trying to recharge my account. It has asked me to download a security application to input my password. I installed but the application does not open when I try to put my password in. Your website dows not address this download.

I’m using a Mac and trying to charge up my Alipay account. I get to the correct page after following the links and guide above. However, whatever browser I try and use (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), inside the box where you need to enter the pin it keeps telling me that my activeX controls are out of date and recommends I download Safari 5. I’m using Safari 5.1!! and I can’t seem to find any activeX controls that need updating. Has anyone else had this problem and knows a solution??

Thanks TFG, I got it working! Much easier than doing it from my online BOC account…

I must note however that my receipt from the Post Office looks a little different to the one on this page and the one shown in the above example. The number that I entered was the first printed set of numbers on the receipt.
