And I’ve had occasion to introduce the movie to some Chinese friends. They enjoy it well enough, but it doesn’t really capture their attention. So much of the movie’s greatness comes from the flavor of the dialog, which gets washed out in the subtitle translation. 

In China, the Big Lebowski is called ‘The Green Toe Murder’   谋杀绿脚趾   I’m into the whole brevity thing. But I don’t know if I would call BL the movie where the chick’s toe gets cut off. I kinda forget about that part.
